“Family is not an important thing. It's everything.” ~ Michael J. Fox

Happy Valentine’s Day! I'm in charge of today's post because I’m all about love. And there’s not much I love more than being with family.
We spent last weekend in Vail with family. While it’s sometimes a little unnerving being around the little humans who are only two years old and 10 months old, we love being with the Busch clan. We especially love going to the family place in Vail in the winter because there’s guaranteed to be a lot of snow. We haven’t had much snow at all this winter in Evergreen. Our parents are thankful for that, but we miss having the white, fluffy stuff to roll around in and push our noses through.
Brian (our Dad’s oldest brother) is my favorite, so I let Will (Brian’s two-year-old son) hug me even though I don’t love being grabbed unexpectedly. Tessie enjoyed cleaning up the highchairs after meal times. Those kids sure do miss getting a lot of their food into their mouths, but I’m not complaining.
Dad went downhill skiing at the resort with our aunt and uncle, but Mom took us out snowshoeing twice over the weekend. There was fresh powder, so we thoroughly enjoyed running around and plowing through the soft snow. It was dry, so I didn’t even get snowballs in my feet like I usually do, which was good since three out of four of my booties went flying within the first five minutes of our hike. Mom put one back on but didn’t bother with the ones for my back feet since she didn’t want to spend most of our outing searching for booties. I still lost one towards the end of our hike. Tessie tried to help Mom find it, but it was a lost cause in the deep snow.
Tessie gets a little overly excited when Will starts running. For some reason, he gets scared when she chases him and barks, so Dad put Tessie’s beep collar on to remind her not to do that.
We had a wonderful time until late Sunday night when Mom suddenly got sick and was up all night. Apparently, humans get something called a stomach bug that makes them unable to eat anything. That would be terrible! I’m so glad I didn’t catch whatever she had. Dad did, though, and started getting sick the next night. Neither of them ate much of anything all week, unfortunately for all of us.
We hope to spend time with family again soon. Being together with those you love is not only fun but also good for your mental health. I hope you get to spend time with loved ones today.
