Before we went to summer camp a few weeks ago, Tessie told you that I was excited about playing with the puppy who would be there. It turns out Tessie was the one who made a new best friend. This was a surprise to us all because Tessie has never liked any puppies, and before this, the only other dogs she liked were Cody and me.
We got to hang out with Cody at summer camp, but it was really hot in Colorado most of the time we were there, so I didn’t feel like playing much. I preferred to stay inside where it was cooler. Luckily for me, Tessie liked this puppy, so they could romp together and let me relax. I am ten years old now, and while I still have my moments, I need my rest from time to time.

Even though we enjoyed summer camp, we were both excited when our parents picked us up last week. We’re never sure how long they'll be away, but any time apart feels too long. Tessie whined as we drove up our driveway because she missed the kitties so much. She couldn’t wait to see Mateo. I was glad to have the whole family back together again – order was restored to my life.
Our parents shared the good news that for the rest of the summer, every day is basically a weekend because Dad is taking time off from work and Mom has reduced her schedule as well. She still has to leave us at home now and then to teach a stand-up paddleboard class, but we’ve gotten to meet her at the lake after class with Dad so we can all go SUP together. I’ve been paddleboarding since I was a baby and almost never fall in. Tessie, on the other hand, falls off the board almost every time, but it doesn’t stop her from wanting to go.
It’s going to be a fun summer full of adventures. We’ll keep you posted on what we’re up to, so if you haven’t already, be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out on the fun.
She surprised all of us!
